Honors Diploma

Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher
Course Criteria:
   (Student must earn a "C" or better in each required class)
​
  • English - 4 credits 
  • Math - 4 progressive credits
  • Science - 3 lab-based credits; Biology, Chemistry and Physics
  • Social Science - 3.5 credits
  • Foreign Language - 2 progressive credits of the same language

  • Science [ACT Benchmark score]

Valedictorian

The Valedictorian and Salutatorian will be chosen based on the following criteria:
  1. All candidates must have a cumulative GPA of 4.0 at the end of the 3rd quarter of their senior year.
  2. Class rank will be determined using a point system:
          Honors classes and DSU Core classes worth 3 credits are worth 1 point
          AP Classes and DSU Core Courses for 4 or more credits are worth 2 points
  *Note In the event of a tie in rank at this point, the ACT score will be used to determine final class ranking.
